Welcome to Strictly HDR!
Hi everyone -
Please allow me to be the first person to welcome you to Strictly HDR, a community-based forum dedicated to discussing High Dynamic Range Imagery (HDR/HDRI).
My name is Melanie and I am the administrator of this site. I started producing HDR images in June of 2008 and I'm addicted! I noticed that I had trouble finding a forum which was dedicated to HDR and HDR alone, so I created this forum.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Hi
By name is Buzz and I amf rom Baltimore MD. USA I have been looking for a source of HDR information and saw this site mentioned on dpreview.com.
i have read Christian Bloch's "HDRI Handbook" and "High Dynamic Range Digital Photography" by Ferrell McCpllough. Bloch's book is chuck full of information --- While Mccollough'h book has some very good examples of Tonemapped HDR Files, but has too many that are way over the top when it comes to processing. (for me that is)
Hope this forum is a success!!!

Hi all. I am Denny and live in Overland Park, KS ( suburb of Kansas City ). I use a Canon 5D and enjoy most all types of photography. I do a lot of portraits but also enjoy landscapes. I have started to become interested in HDR and want to learn the best techniques. I have a downloaded demo copy of Photomatix which I am anxious to do more with. I most likely will purchase it in the near future. Look forward to learning from many of the folks here.

Re: Welcome to Strictly HDR!
Hi, I'm Angie, living in Dorset, S.W.England. Love photography and everything to do with it, use DynamicPhoto from MediaChance for 'real' HDR, Lucis Art and Topaz for pseudo HDR. I have been interested in HDR for around 2 years but only become serious in the last year or so and now use it a great deal but not usually very obviously so. But always keen to learn more skills and methods.
Thanks to Mike (Arkitekt) for the info on this forum.

Hi There
My name is Lena & I live in B.C. Canada. I have a Canon S5IS and also an A590. Both loaded with CHDK. Though when I grow up I'd like a Canon 40D ;o)
I bought Photomatix a while back and Artizen just recently. I really enjoy the constant learning process of HDR. I'm not a member of any HDR groups so this is my first venture into meeting others with the same interests.
Thanks!
Lena

Greetings from the Ozarks! My name is Mark and I have been using HDR for about 18 months. I have been using it almost exclusively to generate realistic or natural landscapes.
It is exciting to find a forum devoted exclusively to HDR!

Re: Welcome to Strictly HDR!
Hi, my name is Antony, and I live in the little town of Leerdam in the Netherlands.
I've been taking pictures all my life, it started in the old days with b/w pictures in a d.i.y. darkroom. I have always used Pentax camera's, but I've also collected a range of old rangefinder camera's, like Zorki, Kiev, Minox and Leica. My first digital camera was a Sony Mavica, it used floppy disk for storage. It was only1.3 mp, but the images were remarkably sharp for those days. On my pbase galleries there are still some old Mavica pictures. Today I use a Pentax (surprise), and a Panasonic. A very underrated camera, with a superb Leica Lens, but it produces sometimes a little to much noise in the higher ISO range. But as a old fashioned photographer, I sometimes like grain in pictures.
This forum was brought to my attention by Melanie, the administrator. She had seen some of my hdr pictures on pbase, and liked them.
So that's why I joined. I hope to learn something from members here.
Please feel free to visit my pbase galleries,
Antony
